Our client, a well-established packaging material manufacturer, is seeking a Director of Information Technology to lead the organization's IT department and leverage current and future information systems and technologies to contribute to the company's business objectives.

The Director of Information Technology is responsible for integrating all information systems activities into the operation of the business. The incumbent will plan, design, coordinate and direct all operational activities of the application department. This includes determining appropriate staffing levels and managing a technical team to ensure the attainment of all IT service levels within the organization. It is imperative for this individual to foster a collaborative team environment.

This is an onsite position based in Atlanta, GA. Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate. Regular travel to the Toronto HQ Office will be required, and to manufacturing plants across the US, as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with corporate offices and manufacturing sites to analyse problems/new opportunities and apply solutions to improve processes, reduce costs and automate manual processes.
  • Procure, install (or arrange installation of) & develop expertise on all hardware, software, applications, and services, and manage computerized solutions to company objectives.
  • Negotiate, procure, and manage communication services to ensure all Company sites and employees are connected to the network, both local and remote users.
  • Ensure security of Company business systems – reduce risk of data loss, security breaches and loss of connectivity of employees.
  • Investigate, identify & evaluate all computer hardware, software applications & data communications technology and determine potential applications for the Company.
  • Direct and supervise IT department, including outside contractor services: provide direction, conduct annual performance appraisals, provide/arrange for appropriate training & development, provide input into hiring and termination decisions as well as compensation decisions.
  • Coordinate all functions of the IT Department to ensure alignment with Company goals.
Qualifications:
  • 4-Year Degree in Computer Science and 10+ years of IT experience, including supervisory/management roles OR 2-year degree/diploma and 20+ years of experience.
  • Manufacturing experience required, Multi-site Manufacturing exp is strongly preferred, and Flexible Packaging experience would be an asst.
  • Experience with Q.A.D. Enterprise system preferred but experience overseeing other ERPs is acceptable.
  • Experience managing multiple areas of IT, including Help Desk Support, IT Infrastructure, ERP and Business Applications, Vendor Management, IT Security, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing process improvements and leveraging an organization's IT ecosystem to align with business objectives.
  • Experience with A.I. and Automation in a Manufacturing setting a plus
