Job Desc:
We have an outstanding Contract position for an Electronics Inspector to join a leading Company located in the Laurel, MD surrounding area.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Verify the compliance of assembled printed circuit boards with engineering documentation, manufacturing build plans, and industry workmanship standards via visual and other inspection methods. Work includes both visual and machine-aided inspection (X-ray, AOI, basic test equipment).
  • Accurately record as-built information, nonconformance information, traceability requirements, labor hours, and other product attributes into computer databases.
  • Collaborate with assembly technicians, manufacturing, and project engineers in the disposition of nonconforming products identified during inspection.
  • Perform process and housekeeping audits of working areas and report findings to area supervision.

Basic Hiring Criteria:
  • Have a High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years' experience in inspecting or assembling/soldering electronic printed wiring boards and cable assemblies.
  • Must have IPC-J-STD-001 with Space addendum certification in the past
  • Must be able to interpret both formal and informal assembly requirements and documentation.
  • Are customer-focused with excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivated, capable of multitasking, and following verbal and written instructions.
  • Have the ability to inspect to different levels of requirements depending on the task at hand.
  • Are able to function as part of a team.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Have AA degree or equivalent experience or other education in electronics.
  • Have NASA-STD-8739.1 Certification.
  • Have WHMA/IPC-A-620 Certification.
  • Have had experience with x-ray and automated optical inspection equipment.
  • Have 5 or more years of experience working of spaceflight electronics.
