Job Title: Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Specialist – Federal Construction Projects

Need Federal Project Experience and willing to TRAVEL!

Position Summary:

The QA/QC Specialist will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality of construction processes and outcomes on federal projects. This role involves developing and implementing quality control plans, conducting inspections and audits, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations and company standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in federal construction quality assurance/quality control, strong analytical skills, and a keen eye for detail.

Travel is Required as projects vary from state to state, project duration varies from multiple weeks to months dependent upon contracts awarded

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and monitor quality control plans and procedures for federal construction projects to ensure compliance with federal regulations, project specifications, and company standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of construction activities, materials, and workmanship to identify and address any quality issues or non-compliances.
  • Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and contract documents to ensure that construction activities adhere to quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to resolve quality-related issues and provide guidance on quality standards and best practices.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and quality reports, ensuring accurate documentation of compliance and non-compliance issues.
  • Manage and coordinate the testing of construction materials and systems, including arranging for third-party testing services as needed.
  • Ensure that corrective actions and improvements are implemented promptly for any identified quality issues or deviations.
  • Provide training and support to project staff and subcontractors on quality control procedures and best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry standards, federal regulations, and advancements in quality control methods and technologies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field; equivalent work experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum of [5] years of experience in QA/QC roles within federal construction projects.
  • Thorough understanding of federal construction regulations, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in quality control software and tools (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address quality issues effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with project teams, clients, and regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Travel will be required to facilitate projects.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in quality control or management (e.g., CQI, PMP, CQM) is a plus.
  • Experience with specialized quality control processes, such as those related to sustainable construction or specific federal project requirements.
  • Familiarity with advanced quality control technologies and methodologies.
