Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Territory Sales Representative to join their growing sales team. The Sales Rep will be able to work remotely from NC, SC, GA, or FL with regular regional travel to Customers and Manufacturing Plant locations.

This individual is responsible for achieving maximum sales profitability & growth within an assigned territory by effectively selling their products.

The ideal candidate is a results-driven professional with a proven track record of creating and executing effective sales strategies. They excel at business planning, forecasting sales and expenses, and leveraging data to identify growth opportunities within an assigned territory.

This individual is a strong communicator and collaborator, capable of working closely with Sales Managers, plant operations, and accounting teams to drive revenue and ensure customer satisfaction. They are adept at monitoring market trends, analyzing competitive activity, and implementing strategies to retain and grow accounts.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare annual business plan for the assigned territory
  • Compile and complete yearly sales and expense forecasts.
  • Develop & execute sales strategies with the help of the Sales Manager.
  • Identify and plan Target Account strategies in conjunction with Sales Manager.
  • Monitor competitive activity and trends within territory.
  • Conduct strategic account reviews with the Sales Manager, regularly.
  • With the help of the Sales Manager, monitor the territory's potential and determine the value of existing and potential customers to the organization.
  • With the help of the Sales Manager, identify accounts where revenue may be shrinking and formulate strategies to address this.
  • With the help of the Sales Manager, develop & maintain prospect list.
  • With the help of plant and sales management, expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints.
  • Develop strong relationships with key contacts at the given accounts and with production personnel.
  • Consult and cooperate with team members in Quality, Customer Service, Production, Sales, and Finance.
  • Develop contacts with professional societies; learn best practices.
  • Develop working relationships with key leaders and colleagues and with appropriate suppliers.
  • Prepare & submit weekly call reports, weekly expense reports and monthly activity reports.
  • With help of accounting, works to collect outstanding invoices. Identify accounts where financial difficulties could impact the ability to collect payments for invoices

Experience & Skills
  • College degree, Bachelor's preferred
  • 2-5 years' demonstrated success in a territory sales role
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organizational skills, able to set priorities; responsive to customers.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Some knowledge of flexible packaging products and markets.
  • Experience selling to industrial customers preferred.
