Client is looking to hire a drive and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to work out of their corporate office in Winston Salem, NC. This position will join our dynamic finance and accounting team and will be responsible for assisting in month-end close duties and financial reporting as well as compliance tasks.
What you will be doing:
• Prepare and enter journal entries.
• Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts.
• Review and analyze P&L accounts as assigned.
• Create supporting schedules for monthly reporting to Parent Company in Hyperion (HFM).
• Assist with maintenance of sales tax software (Avalara) and sales tax returns.
• Assist with accounting compliance tasks as needed (ex: property tax filings).
• Assist with fleet compliance tasks (ex: driver setup, licensing, and records).
• Assist with fixed assets and the Capital Expenditure Request (CER) process.
• Assist with review and G/L coding of invoices and expense reports.
• Provide information for audits, tax returns, and insurance renewals.
• Document processes and find ways to continuously improve them.
What we are looking for:
• Bachelor's degree with major in Accounting.
• One or more years of experience in an accounting role.
• Strong MS Excel skills.
• Flexibility to handle multiple tasks/priorities each day.
• Team player who displays good judgment and ability to learn.
• Strong organizational ability and problem-solving skills.
• Clear and effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work outside of normal schedule, increased hours or on holidays when business needs require
Hybrid - 3 days in office, 2 days remote
