Demand Planner

Summary/Overview
The Demand Planner will be responsible for planning and optimizing stock levels while working cross functionally with marketing, sales, finance etc. to forecast product needs and achieve business goals and targets.

Essential functions/Description of responsibilities:

• Utilize experience, historical data, trends and statistical knowledge to develop a sku-level forecast pattern for all products
• Partner and build consensus with Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Finance to review the forecast and changes on a weekly basis based on launches, promotions, partner programs, replenishment, and velocity changes
• Ensure forecast accuracy with a service level above 97% for retailers
• Maintain the balance between proper inventory and an accurate forecast
• Proactively propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy
• Make forecast modifications in NAV system
• Ensure that demand plan changes are communicated to the operations team to ensure inventory is accurate to support sales
• Monitor performance of new launches versus forecast
• Drive action plans to reduce excess and obsolete items
• Manage excess stock with sales and marketing teams to minimize obsolete inventory

Education, Experience and Required Skills:

• 5-10 yrs. experience as a Demand Planner and forecasting in Personal Care, preferably hair (but not required)
• Strong analytical mind set with advanced skills in Excel
• Experience working with NAV system
• Strategic, able to solve problemsand forward thinking with strong attention to detail
• Creative thinker with entrepreneurial spirit
• Strong positive communicator with ability to collaborate cross functionally n
• Flexible and adaptable; must be able to shift gears easily/pivot quickly and effectively and juggle multiple priorities
