We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer I to manage, maintain, and optimize our Denodo data virtualization platform. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in Denodo, data integration, and software development. You'll be part of a growing team responsible for the design, documentation, implementation, and support of an assortment of projects, and a key player on a multidisciplinary team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installation, configuration, and maintenance of Denodo platform, including upgrades and security management.
- Design and implement data virtualization layers using Denodo for data consumption via a variety of integration methods, including API calls and web services.
- Develop and optimize Denodo views, procedures, and transformations.
- Establish and maintain governance processes, best practices, and documentation.
- Implement load balancing, caching, and backup strategies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues and errors.
- Collaborate with technical teams to develop new solutions and integrate Denodo with additional systems.
- Collaborate with business teams to develop new views and data models.
- Create and manage ETL processes and data pipelines.
- Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users.
- Comply with company C-TPAT and TSA security procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Strong knowledge of data virtualization concepts and architecture.
- Proficiency in SQL, XML, and web services APIs.
- Experience with ETL tools and processes.
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems and shell scripting.
- Understanding of data warehousing and business intelligence concepts.
- Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- May be asked to participate in an afterhours on call support rotation.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 2-4 years of experience. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration. 3+ years of experience with Denodo Platform (version 7.0 or higher) preferred
- Denodo Platform Certified Developer or Administrator certification.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Knowledge of Python and Java programming languages.
- Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
