Job Description Summary
JOB MISSION:
The Lead EDI Technical Architect will have primary responsibility for major EDI transformation and communications systems, define the architecture, in design and strategy, of new or enhanced systems, perform detailed analysis, design and implementation of complex solutions such as expansion of SI business processes and multi-platform development, and perform in a leadership role in medium to large scale projects. As a department lead, the Lead EDI Technical Architect is expected to influence the organization and define, uphold and communicate the vision of the EDI architecture and solutions that support the business strategies while acting as a mentor and role model to EDI team members. The Lead EDI Technical Architect will have the ability to think critically and analytically, work under pressure, manage multiple tasks and prioritize to meet departmental commitments.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Architect and set standards for EDI communications, EDI document mapping and business workflows, and facilitate the creation of governing principles to guide new and modified EDI enablement's and processes
  • Manage MFT architecture: implementation, integration and day to day maintenance
  • Provide functional guidance to EDI Technical team on proper configuration and implementation of EDI architecture
  • Develop a Solution Blueprint for the optimal utilization of the IBM Sterling B2Bi platform
  • Introduce, institute and reinforce best practices methodologies in EDI trading partner implementations, mapping standards, EDI software implementation and interface and MFT standards
  • Review and provide input on the technical design for all mid and large-scale EDI projects
  • Coordinate the work product and contribution of third-party solution developers and internal key stakeholders by reviewing and providing input on third-party developed designs and solutions
  • Analyze technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on the enterprise EDI architecture
  • Complex EDI Mapping in IBM Sterling B2Bi
  • Custom programming using 4PL (Python, Perl, BASH) and software specific (SI BPML, mapping logic, VLTrader logic) programming languages
  • Comprehensive administration and operational support of core EDI systems inclusive of: Cleo VLTrader, Gentran Server, IBM Sterling B2Bi
  • Operational monitoring of EDI systems platforms: Linux and Windows systems
  • Define, design and implement Integrations Systems Architecture
  • Lead medium to large scale complex technical projects. Work with business, database and application development teams and report progress of project throughout project lifecycle. (Gather requirements, Design, Validate, Unit test, Deploy, and Post Production checks)
  • Contribute to the definition of the EDI Roadmap solution based on IBM Sterling B2Bi and Infor ERP best practices
  • Produce technical diagrams and present complex concepts and process maps to all business levels

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS
  • BS in Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience implementing, upgrading and managing B2B EDI and MFT solutions in large scale, high volume retail-facing manufacturing organizations
  • Configuration and customization of the following EDI/MFT products: Cleo VL Trader, IBM Sterling B2Bi, Gentran
  • Proficient in utilizing Linux and Windows operating systems, inclusive of: command line competency, cron job administration, shell scripting, disk utilization and system health
  • Advanced level knowledge of middleware software layer to support complex, distributed EDI and business software applications
  • Experience working in iterative Agile Methodologies
  • Ability to rapidly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills
  • Apparel/Footwear industry, or equivalent a plus
  • Sell-side import logistics and supply chain experience a plus
  • Minimal travel may be required.
  • Experience with Cleo VL Trader optimization and oversight
  • Experience with IBM Sterling B2Bi and Gentran EDI software packages
  • Experience with EDI and MFT standards and protocols inclusive of:
  • ANSI X12, EDIFACT
  • FTP, FTPS, SSH FTP, AS2, HTTPs, UNC, Web services
  • Advance 4PL programming skills in languages such as Perl and Python
  • Documentation and Process Mapping Skills
