Key Duties and Responsibilities
Must have Data Guard Experience to be considered.

• Leads the design, development, delivery, and optimization of databases, database instances, database clusters, database software, and related components.
• Conducts Oracle application system reviews to optimize application performance and efficiency.
• Coaches and mentors' teams on the efficient use of Oracle and database services.
• Serves as the senior subject matter expert and technical lead for Oracle database technologies.
• Leads the review of IT solutions to assure compliance with database standards and industry best practices.
• Leads the analysis of complex problems, business requirements, and technical requirements to develop effective database solutions.
• Provides database consulting and design services to application developers and other consumers of database services.
• Maintains and develops relationships with business partners, solution delivery, data management, operations, external service provider, engineering, and other IT teams.
• Proactively identify database issues and resolutions.
• Assume ownership of database related problems; work closely with internal technical teams to pursue problem resolution and root cause analysis.
• Configure and deliver end-to-end support for database servers and data services running on VMware platform.

Required Technical Skills and Experience
• 10+ years of Database Engineering/DBA experience.
• Experience supporting 24/7 databases. Retail industry background is a plus.
• Extensive experience in RMAN, HADR, Data Guard, and Data-Domain.
• Experience as an Oracle database analyst, engineer, or architect.
• Experience with development and design in the database space.
• Experience designing, building, deploying, maintaining, and optimizing Oracle database instances, objects, software, and related components.
• Extensive knowledge in creating and maintaining well performing physical database structures.
• Work with Application DBA, Developers and Operations/Systems DBA to optimize database structures and performance.
• Provide SQL and technical analysis on non-prod and prod database environments and recommend improvements.
• Coordinate and support database, application, OS and hardware upgrades.
• Familiar with database installation and configuration/parameter tuning.
• Familiar with day-to-day database administration, database utilities and performance monitoring tools.
• Assist with database upgrades, configuration, and patches.
• Assist with monitoring and fine-tuning databases. Experience with Datadog a plus.
• Familiar with database security and access.
• Experience designing, building, deploying, maintaining, and optimizing Oracle database instances, clusters, objects, software, and related components.
• Proven experience delivering database solutions within a project management framework.
• Advanced knowledge of database stored procedures, database triggers, database commands, and database utilities.
• Proven experience designing, developing, delivering, and optimizing database backup, recovery, high availability, and DR solutions.
• Hands on experience in Design, configuration, and supporting HA on Oracle.
• Understand the ins and outs of database physical and logical replications, clustering, mirroring, and high availability.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL, DML and DDL.
• Extensive experience mentoring and providing database consulting services.
• Learn and stay current on the features and functionality of Oracle databases, focusing on technology.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows, Office, and other productivity tools.

• Experience supporting vendor delivered software products.
• Experience working with offshore teams, outsourcers, or managed service providers.
• Experience with Postgres, MYSQL, AZURE, ITIL and related certifications.
• Datadog & general systems monitoring tools for databases and data services
