We’re analyzing March’s job activity to track hiring trends and workforce demands across industries, on-site vs. remote flexibility, states, top skills, and department needs. We provide insights to help companies stay ahead of hiring challenges and adapt to market shifts while also giving job seekers a clearer picture of where opportunities are growing, which skills are in demand, and how they can position themselves for success.
Here’s a breakdown of the workforce demands our team supported during March:
March saw a more concentrated focus across 8 industries compared to 11 in February. While Manufacturing & Industrial remained the top sector, Retail & Consumer Goods and Supply Chain & Logistics showed notable growth across the jobs our team worked on.
Industries like Aerospace & Defense and Sustainability, which were present in February, did not appear in our top hiring sectors for March.
After February saw an increase in hybrid and remote work flexibility, March swung back with an even greater demand for on-site roles.
March saw activity expand across 20 states, up from 17 in February. North Carolina led hiring activity, making up more than 15% of placements and surpassing New Jersey, which was the top state in February.

Additional hiring occurred across states including Texas, Florida, Michigan, Virginia, Georgia, Illinois, and more.
While some technology-driven skills like SAP, Business Intelligence, and System Administration were highly sought in February, March saw a shift toward a more diverse range of skills, including engineering, leadership, and ERP systems.
