Information Security Analysts High in Demand
|
At the end of last year, we predicted an increase in IT Security jobs. As we are well into 2015, we’ve certainly seen an uptick and it isn’t stopping anytime soon.
According to a Career Builder Supply and Demand Report, in April 2014, 11,890 IT Security job postings were recorded, and in April 2015, 25,113 IT Security jobs were recorded in the U.S. That’s a 47% increase in job postings for the month of April alone.
The top recorded job title from this same report was ‘Information Security Analyst’ with ‘Security Engineers’ following.
Unfortunately for companies not utilizing staffing agencies, the search for an Information Security candidate might be quite difficult. According to the same Career Builder Report, there are 21,113 active candidates across the U.S. and 239,384 open positions. That’s enough candidates for just under 9% of open positions. If you are looking to staff an IT Security position, your best bet will be to utilize an expert.
When it comes to salary for these positions, the increase in need for talent has led to an increase in pay. The median salary in the U.S. is $99,600 where as in 2014, the average median salary was around $91,600.
